Media Powerhouse has been chosen as the video supplier for Threesixty Entertainment’s major new production of CS Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in Kensington Gardens this summer.
With performances running through to early September, the classic story has been adapted for the stage by Rupert Goold and is being performed in the state of the art Threesixty theatre, a tent-like structure with the capacity to seat over 1480 people, situated by the historic Kensington Palace.
Media Powerhouse has supplied 12 Barco FLM R22+ projectors in custom built frames positioned around the circular stage, to project a 360 degree image on to the inner surface of the tent. The show content is then delivered via a network of Green Hippo media servers. As well as the equipment, Media Powerhouse is also supplying the onsite operator for the duration of the show.
Alan Macdonald, director, Media Powerhouse, says, “Working once again with Threesixty is fantastic for the Media Powerhouse team. It enables us to show our expertise in multi image large canvas soft edge projection. The result is a theatre-going experience unlike any other. We look forward to continuing our work with Threesixty and playing a part in similar large-scale AV projects in the future.”
Charlie Burnell, producer, Threesixty Entertainment, added, “Following the success of Peter Pan, Threesixty are delighted to be working with Media Powerhouse again. They are excellent collaborators and I am confident that their expertise and quality of work will help us make The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe unique.”
