Event & Scenic Growth: New Talent and Added Capabilities.

Our Event & Scenic division continues to grow as demand for event services increases. To support this growth, we have welcomed three experienced professionals to the team, Anish Patel, Richard Why and Danny Wise. Each brings specialist expertise to strengthen our capabilities and ensure we continue delivering high-quality event solutions. 

Enhancing AV and LED Expertise 

During Q4 of 2024, we welcomed Anish Patel, an ambitious and technically skilled Project Manager with a specialisation in video and LED technology. Previously with Universal Pixels, Anish brings a strong foundation in AV project management, built from years of freelancing with industry leaders such as Creative Technology, PRG, and Blu-I. 

Anish has already displayed his sharp attention to detail and proactive approach, while settling into his role. His deep understanding of LED and video solutions strengthens our in-house AV capabilities, enabling us to deliver even better visual experiences for our clients. 

Focused Support for Event Logistics and Coordination 

Richard Why has joined as Rental Coordinator, focusing on event logistics, crewing, sub hires, and supplier relationships. His previous work with Onyx Presentations, Vibration Group, and Hawthorn has given him a detailed understanding of the operational requirements involved in delivering successful events. 

Richard’s role will improve the efficiency of our resource allocation, helping us manage projects of all sizes with precision. He is also the primary point of contact for freelancers and suppliers looking to collaborate with our Event & Scenic division. 

Adding Proven Event Project Management 

We have also added Danny Wise to the team, who brings more than 30 years of experience in the event industry. His career began with Blitz, where he progressed to Head of Project Management for ExCeL London, overseeing large-scale event delivery, managing cross-functional teams, and coordinating complex logistics for some of the UK’s most high-profile exhibitions and shows. From there, Danny moved to Anna Valley, delivering live events for a diverse range of clients across the UK.

Danny has extensive knowledge of AV production, scenic construction, and the logistics required for live events. His ability to manage complex projects and deliver high-quality outcomes will support the division’s continued growth.

Expanding Our In-House Event Capabilities

These appointments follow a period of significant growth for our Event & Scenic division. At the turn of the year, we also expanded our capabilities with the integration of The Chiswick Scenery Company under the Media Powerhouse brand, adding a dedicated scenic workshop to our portfolio. This facility gives us complete control over the design and construction of sets and staging, ensuring high standards of finish and accuracy.

This addition is the second major expansion of our in-house production capabilities, following the acquisition of The Creative Place in 2019. Operating as both an independent brand and our in-house print production house, the Creative Print team brings over 30 years of expertise in large-format print. With advanced print technology and a wide range of materials, we now manage all event graphics in-house, from branded backdrops to directional signage.

This combined expertise enables us to deliver complete event solutions without relying on external suppliers. By managing print, scenic, and AV requirements internally, we maintain better oversight, reduce costs, and improve turnaround times. Clients benefit from a single point of contact and a streamlined, reliable process.

Experienced Leadership Driving Success

The Event & Scenic division benefits from strong, hands-on leadership.

Nick Hart, Commercial Director, leads the division with a clear commercial focus, applying his years of industry experience to build long-standing relationships with event and experience agencies.

Managing Director Alan MacDonald remains deeply involved, contributing his extensive knowledge of the live events sector. With decades of practical experience, Alan brings a grounded, client-focused approach to the division. His expertise, built over years of working on high-profile events, ensures that the team continues to deliver reliable, high-quality results.
