Media Powerhouse was contracted directly by Chevron to design, supply, install and maintain significant new audio visual facilities at their new London headquarters in Cavendish Square, London. The new property had been acquired in order to house all of Chevron’s senior executives and management teams in the UK, so the installation had to be impeccable. We were given the brief to equip the new facilities with state of the art presentation and communication services. This included the integration of equipment into a presentation theatre space for large internal meetings, two executive board rooms, ten additional meeting / training rooms and a building-wide IPTV solution.
The new three screen Tandberg video conferencing system provides the focus for the two executive board rooms. These can be used to display images from DVD players, PCs and laptops connected to the facilities. In addition, a multi-channel IPTV feed gives users access to at least 50 UK and foreign TV and news channels, all delivered over the new Chevron IT infrastructure. Furthermore, the IPTV channels which are available to any networked PC or laptop can also be recorded for future viewing and reference. High quality audio systems were installed in these rooms with screen audio relayed via a combination of in wall and ceiling speakers. All the equipment in these areas, including the lighting, can be controlled either remotely via the IT team, or by using the AMX touch panels located in the room.
The seminar space is a large room with two projection screens. It has access to all of the sources mentioned previously as well as microphones and record devices for presentations to audiences of up to 70 people. The room is dividable into two spaces and once divided, the equipment in each area can be individually controlled via separate AMX wireless touch panels. This space is often used as a large training facility so 12 laptop connection points have been installed throughout the room for delegates to use as required.
The smaller meeting rooms are single screen facilities each with access to their own resources which include two laptop points, a PC and DVD player as well as IPTV. The equipment in these smaller rooms can also be controlled in room via the AMX wall panel or remotely via the IT team.
This installation was completed on time and within budget. As a result of this very successful project, Media Powerhouse has now been contracted as a preferred supplier to Chevron, looking after maintenance across three UK sites and all additional project work. As well as working with Chevron, we also worked alongside ISG Interior Exterior who was the principal contractor on this project.
