Scenic Expertise on Display: Betty Crocker’s Dream Bake Studio.

Media Powerhouse recently worked with Momentum Worldwide to deliver the Betty Crocker Dream Bake Studio at The Trafford Centre, Manchester. This pop-up experience aimed to help visitors overcome “Baker’s Block” the frustration bakers face when struggling for inspiration. Participants digitally sketched their dream cakes, then using AI technology, these were transformed into personalised cake kits they could take home.

A Tailored Scenic Experience 

Our Scenic division, Chiswick Scenery Company, played a key role in transforming the space into an interactive activation, perfectly aligned with the theme of creativity and problem-solving. The scenic elements were designed to immerse visitors in the creative process, supporting the interactive nature of the event while maintaining clear brand visibility for Betty Crocker. Each detail was carefully considered to ensure a smooth experience for participants.

Precision in Design and Build 

The scenic build incorporated a range of custom-designed elements. For instance, the reveal window, built from 18mm MDF with router grooves, was engineered to ensure smooth sliding action. This precision design allowed the window panels to glide effortlessly, enabling seamless product displays, particularly for showcasing the custom cake kits.

The carefully engineered photo opportunity areas, featuring branded side elevations and shaped cut-outs, provided a playful yet polished backdrop for visitors.

The structural components were designed to be both practical and visually striking. Shelf units, built from multiple sections of MDF and assembled on-site, ensured both durability and flexibility. The plan elevations and side elevations were developed with precision, with measurements and tolerances kept within +/- 0.5mm to guarantee that the setup maintained its integrity throughout the event.

Overcoming Baker’s Block

“Baker’s Block” was central to the event’s purpose. The scenic elements, along with the AI tools, were designed to reinvigorate creativity in a fun and engaging way, giving visitors the chance to break free from their baking challenges and try something new. This interactive studio helped both amateur and experienced bakers reimagine what they could achieve, all in a space designed to inspire.

Comprehensive Support Across Print and Technology 

In addition to the scenic elements, our print production house The Creative Place handled the branded print materials throughout the event. Custom graphics were applied to key areas like the reveal window and interactive spaces, ensuring brand consistency and a visually cohesive setup. The vibrant prints featured Betty Crocker branding, enhancing the overall experience.

We also supplied the AV equipment for the interactive elements, delivering the technical infrastructure needed to support the AI-driven activities and ensuring smooth functionality for visitors.
